Joshua Duvall to Speak at ABA's Small Business Committee Meeting on Small Biz Joint Ventures

On November 19, 2021, Joshua Duvall will participate in a panel discussion for the American Bar Association, Section of Public Contract Law's Small Business and Other Socio-Economic Programs Committee on "Recent Changes to the Joint Venture Landscape."

Overview

Recent OHA and COFC decisions have changed the way that small business joint ventures, and firms that participate in them, must be structured and operate. In particular, Seventh Dimension, LLC, SBA No. VET-6057 (2020), InfoPoint, LLC, B-419856, Aug. 27, 2021, 2021 CPD P 290, Innovate Now, LLC, B-419546, Apr. 16, 2021, 2021 CPD P 178, and Swift & Staley, Inc. v. United States, No. 21-1279, 2021 WL 3828112 (Fed. Cl. 2021) have addressed negative control considerations, experience and qualification issues, and accounting for joint ventures receipts for size purposes, respectively. Please join Stephen P. Ramaley as he moderates a lively discussion on the practical implications of these decisions with our panel:
